Real Lessons from a Flower Farmer

Wow, life has been a whirlwind lately. Between family, health, the farm, and the business, it feels like we're juggling more than ever this year. Does anyone else feel like the balls you're juggling just keep getting heavier? I’m right there with you. Life is a LOT for many of us right now, in so many different ways. And while it’s hard to let people in on your struggles, I've learned something important: when we share the messiness of life, we allow others to learn from our experiences, turning what might feel like failures into something meaningful.

I’ve shared a bit (and more is coming) about my sister’s recent health scare. It’s been terrifying and incredibly vulnerable, but opening up has allowed us to learn from others and share our journey, too. There’s so much healing and comfort in that.

This applies to the farm as well. For anyone with a garden or cherished plants, you know that late summer can leave everything looking fried and exhausted. With my focus on my sister the past five weeks, I’ll be honest—the farm shows it. It’s hard on the team who’s been working tirelessly, and it’s a gut punch to me when I finally step back and take a look.

Don’t get me wrong, the farm is full of flowers and we’re keeping things running, but I see all the little things I know better than to let slide. It’s tough to give yourself grace in those moments, but I’m trying. And because I’m a silver lining type of gal, I’m swallowing my vulnerabilities and inviting you to join me on a farm tour.

These tours aren’t just about showing off our successes; they’re about digging into what really matters. There's a lot to learn when you see can showcase these common problems, though, and I feel like we should talk about that! We’ll talk about the daily struggles in the garden, look at how to control weeds, address crop planning hiccups, and discuss what consistently works when life pulls you away from your plants. Together, we’ll find the silver linings in the hard parts of living this beautiful life.

There’s something special about being with folks in person, and that’s what makes these farmer tours so meaningful for everyone, including me. So come see the farm, and let’s find some silver linings together! As a thank you, here’s a coupon code for the first one to sign up!

P.S. If you can’t make it in person, keep an eye out for our upcoming Mum Summit—a really fun digital event you won’t want to miss!

Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. You are the reason this farm thrives and grows.

XOXO, Jess
