One week until Christmas. That statement will either make your toes twinge in excitement or make your skin crawl in anxiety. Sometimes it’s both!
At church this week I heard of a pandemic that is now ravaging the country. It’s the epidemic of loneliness. Folks are feeling more isolated, detached, and just plain lonely than ever before in history. The thought of that makes my heart ache, partly because it’s relatable and partly because I don’t want anyone else to feel that way.
What a hard year it’s been for all of us but we must find our silver linings. First off, this year is almost over. Second, we have the power to change lonely. We just have to connect with each other. We have the tools in our community to make this world a brighter place and that’s going to be my focus for 2025.
I’m excited in the next few weeks to share with you something new we are working on to help connect us all. A new way to be seen and heard in your garden of life. But for now, do me a favor, and connect with someone in the meantime. Send a card, give a hug, go out for coffee just connect so that one less person can feel a little less lonely this holiday season.
