It’s the week before Valentine's and the farm is humming with love. It’s also a balmy 60 degrees so that helps! We are so busy making sure everyone is celebrated with a beautiful dose of spring magic in a vase of tulips. All red, pink and white, or the classic mix we have you stocked in choices and delivery locations! And if you aren’t local don’t sweat because we are shipping these beauts nationwide in bouquets!

While the world might feel like a big ball of chaos the spring tulips remind us that seasons change and with the end of winter always comes the behind of spring. These sweet little bouquets always give folks the best show and bang for the buck showing up looking like a pile of leaves and unimpressive buds but before you know it they wake up and start to grow and stretch unfurling in size and color. Tulips make you fall in love with them during their show after all the work they put in how could you not?

But it’s not just the tulips working hard this week the mums are too! The mother stock has been slowly waking up from Winter dormancy and it’s always the fear of doubt that has us biting our nails right about now. Are they alive? Will we hit numbers? Will they produce in time? It’s a lesson in faith and patience and a test of our skill each season. Last year we missed the mark but we have done so much to improve our process and the plants are already showing up for it. From one week to the next it looks like a different greenhouse. The plants are literally popping out of the ground with life; something that reassures us all on the farm. The weather has been helping as well as the added crank to the heaters in the houses and the added light (we might land a plane out here at the farm one night if we aren’t careful)!

We have even ordered the new mum babies fancy new tags so when they go out to the garden centers this year they are dressed accordingly. I hope you see their new outfits! Make sure you snag a couple for your garden. I will be the one boxing up your order and I can’t wait to tuck a little love into your garden this spring!
XOXO, Jess
