It’s been a wild, wonderful, and busy week here at Harmony Harvest, and we’re feeling that mid-July hustle in full swing.
Right now, we’re spending a lot of our time cutting back the lisianthus. I know — it’s a little sad to see them go after their big, beautiful first flush of blooms, but this reset helps them get ready for round two. They’re just taking a little break, and we’re giving them the haircut they need to come back this fall.
The rain lately has been no joke, and with it came a mountain of weeds. I swear they are growing faster than the flowers! We’ve been in the fields every day trying to reclaim our rows. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s part of the deal when you love farming. The plants are thankful, even if our backs are a little sore.
We’re also still deep in mum season prep, up-potting mother mums and giving them a nice pinch back to encourage bushy growth. Although to be honest, some of them are already so tall they needed more of a full-on haircut than a gentle pinch! The tunnel crop of mums for fall is going in now too, and it’s got us all excited for what’s to come when the air gets a little crisper.

In the middle of all this, we placed our seed order for our 2026 crops. Yes, you read that right! It’s wild to already be thinking that far ahead, but planning ahead is part of what keeps the magic going around here. There’s something so hopeful about ordering seeds for seasons we haven’t even lived through yet.
We’re also in the thick of planning our fall workshops and the Mum Summit, which is honestly one of my favorite events of the whole year. If you haven’t grabbed your ticket yet, now’s the time — they just went live on the site and we’d love to see you there!

And even with everything happening behind the scenes, we’re loving the steady stream of folks coming out to enjoy pick-your-own on the farm. There’s nothing better than seeing our fields through your eyes! Watching you wander, pick flowers, and enjoy a little pause in the middle of summer.
It’s a full week, but our hearts (and buckets!) are overflowing. Thanks for being part of it all with us.
XOXO, Jess
